Keep Walking

I am preaching this morning and tomorrow.

I *really* wanna preach from Deuteronomy 2, when God sent the people wandering, delaying their feet touching the promise as punishment. I wanna preach how they, tired and just barely holding on, walked past all of these inhabitable lands that God said, “I promised that to someone else. Keep walking.” I wanna preach about how easy it is to give up walking ‘cause you gave up shoes.

But God said “that’s not for them” so imma preach something else.

For my memories, though, and for me:

Don’t try to set up roots in someone else’s promised land. Don’t build houses and settle down where you’re wandering because it’s become too exhausting to keep walking. Hold on til you can touch the ground beneath the promise. It’s coming soon (thank you Geometry Dash). Focus on your own promise and leave everyone else’s alone. Don’t get hostile. Don’t provoke them. Don’t molest them. Follow your path and walk your own journey.

Also, as you watch people wander around the wilderness, in circles around your promise, know the difference between your story, your journey and theirs. Don’t get frustrated by watching them. Don’t be afraid as they pass by. What God has promised you is safe. They can try you if they want to ... but God is God and they are not. They can no more usurp the promises of God than you can give it away.

And if you are leading people to their promise, know when to hold em, know when to walk away. Understand that them entering into the promised land is not dependent upon your existence. They can get there without you. They will. Know the difference between leadership and divinity. Know which one you are and don’t end up dying outside of the promise because you forgot your place.

Anyway, I’m not preaching that cause God said no. My feet are tired, fwiw, but imma keep walking... the promise is coming soon.
